ARGIE BARGIE HOW EASY WAS THAT

Dec 28, 2017

Even drawing the carpark barrier did not stop Argie Barie from dominating the field on Tuesday at Ballina when she won the first race of the day the XXXX GOLD MAIDEN PLATE over 1350meteres.

There was no mucking around from jockey Jackson Morris when the gates opened as he got the 4-year old mare moving quickly up the outside of the field to take the front running position.  By the 1000metre mark she was leading by a length over Hear The Call and Bonnie Brie.  As they travelled down the side of the track Argie Bargie was given no peace by Hear The call and Queen Beatrice, who had moved up to be three wide, but as they came up to the 400 Morris let the reins slip through his fingers, just a little, and she began to skip away from the field.  Straightening up for the run home Morris gave the reins a shake and she came away to be four lengths in front and by the time she hit the winning post she was six and a half lengths in front of the next horse.

It was a very nice way for her to break her maiden winning in a time of 1:20:24.

Argie Bargie is by champion sire Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice) out of the Palace Music (USA) mare Laurinel Argie.
