A strong trio of runners heads to the Sunshine Coast for this evening’s twilight meeting.

MONACO PLAYBOY (pictured) resumes having had the benefit of a recent fourth in a Doomben barrier trial. He will be looking to build on a successful last preparation which netted three wins from 1400m to 1680m.

Fresh off a 3yo maiden win at the Gold Coast, ZOUCARA steps up to a Class 1 company over 1200m, while recent winner HELFUCHI drops back from Saturday Metropolitan grade to contest the Class 3 Handicap (1200m).

Trainer Chris Munce previews their chances below:

Race 5 – 6:04PM BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS BenchMark 85 Handicap (1000 METRES)
Colours No. / Horse Name / Barrier Jockey Weight
8. Monaco Playboy (8) Michael Murphy       54kg

TRAINER COMMENTS: “He’s had two nice trials going into this, they weren’t hard trials but he does enough work on the track. It looks an open sort of race but we know he’s very honest and I’m sure he’ll be putting in 110 per cent and finishing his race off very strongly.”

Race 6 – 6:34PM ACCESS INSULATION Class 1 Handicap (1200 METRES)
Colours No. / Horse Name / Barrier Jockey Weight
5. Zoucara (4) Ryan Wiggins     57kg

TRAINER COMMENTS: “It looks like a nice race for her. From the good draw, she should be able to get a nice run and hopefully she can settle and hit the line like she did first up. She’s in good form and looks terrific so I expect her to be hard to beat.”

Race 7 – 7:04PM IRON JACK LAGER Class 3 Handicap (1200 METRES)
Colours No. / Horse Name / Barrier Jockey Weight
1. Helfuchi (5) Mark Du Plessis      59kg

TRAINER COMMENTS: “We’re up to the 1200m but she’s been relaxing well in her work and she should be able to maintain her gallop right through the line. The 59kg is always a little bit of query but she seems to be fit enough and looks terrific so I expect her to be hard to beat in a race like this.”
