Last start winner SMARTYPY will be looking to continue her winning form when she steps up to a BenchMark 70 (1000m) at Ipswich today.

The daughter of Smart Missile will again be partnered by experienced South African jockey Sean Cormack, who rode her to victory at Ipswich last start in a BenchMark 65 over 1100m.

SMARTYPY has been a model of consistency since arriving with the stable last August, recording three wins and two placings from just eight starts.

Trainer Chris Munce said he had no concerns over SMARTYPY handling the wet track, with the surface rated as a Heavy 9 this morning.

“We’ve had quite a bit of rain but we know she handles it,” he said.

“She has done quite well since her last start win, although this does look a bit of a stronger race and she’s going to need another good ride from Sean.

“If she can find a similar trail behind the speed and be saved for one last crack at them, I’m sure she’ll certainly finish the race off strongly once again.”
