Trainer Chris Munce was back in the saddle this week, taking in some practice jumps ahead of this week’s Jump Off competition.
Jump Off is the first television show of its kind showcasing retired Thoroughbred racehorses in a competition format.
At the heart of Jump Off is equine welfare and this show offers a compelling and entertaining way of showcasing that there is a meaningful life after racing for Thoroughbred horses.
Hosted by Hamish McLachlan, Series 1 featured the biggest names in horse racing and show jumping. Five teams of racehorse trainers and show jumping riders selected retired racehorses, professionally re-trained them for the sport of jumping and took them to local competitions in preparation for the Grand Final. In Series 2, Jump Off has evolved into a new competition format open to all riders with a total prize pool of $100,000.
