RHAPSODY ROSE emerged as a Magic Millions contender after the filly ran away with the QTIS 2YO Handicap at Doomben, breaking her maiden status on start number two.

After an encouraging debut performance over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast last month, when she finished third behind stablemate BERDINI’S GIRL, RHAPSODY ROSE stepped up to 1100m on Saturday and made every post a winner under a well-judged ride by Ben Thompson.

The pair broke well from barrier six, and were never seriously challenged in the run to win by a comfortable 2.25 length margin.

The $42,700 winner’s cheque was an early reward for her connections, and the stable is looking forward to seeing what this daughter of Star Witness can do as she plots a path towards the 2021 Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast next January.

Congratulations to RHAPSODY ROSE’s owners, the Hon. Peter McGauran and Pinecliff Racing.
