GALVARINO ended a long wait for a second victory thanks to an inventive ride from Larry Cassidy at Beaudesert.

The 4YO gelding scored his first career win at Kilcoy in March, and returned to the winner’s enclosure eight months later after claiming the Colts, Geldings & Entires Benchmark 55 Handicap over 1400m.

GALVARINO was away slowly and looked to be caught in traffic on the running rail, but Cassidy peeled him to the outside and it proved to be the winning move as the pair came home strongly to win by half-a-length.

The son of Sepoy is now starting to find his best form, after a runner-up finish and a win in his last two starts.

Congratulations to his patient group of owners: Mr D J Mitchell, Mrs L M Mitchell, Mr P Allen, Mr D Hosa, Mr M Bulluss, Mrs A M Bulluss, Mr F Pinneri and Mr R D McGrath.
