THRASHER was rewarded for her perseverance after climbing off the ropes to land her first win at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
The daughter of Not A Single Doubt has been crying out for an extended trip, so the 2200m of Saturday’s maiden contest always looked like suiting her style of racing.
The 3YO filly found herself last at the 800m mark and was seemingly struggling on the heavy track, but she picked off her rivals one by one in the home straight and was even eased down on the line by jockey Travis Wolfgram to win by two lengths.
It was THRASHER’s first victory in 10 career starts, and the stable is looking forward to seeing her over staying trips in the future.
The overdue win was an early Christmas present for her patient group of owners, the Millsy syndicate.
