Trainer Chris Munce believes race fitness will be an advantage for SPIRIT OF CHEROKEE heading into tomorrow's Carlton Mid QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap (1200m) at Ipswich.
The Spirit of Boom colt comes up against a handful of first starters tomorrow including pre-race favourite Liability, but Munce said SPIRIT OF CHEROKEE would benefit from his recent racing experience when third at Ipswich over 1200m first-up on August 1.

|Race 2 - 1:48PM CARLTON MID QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap (1200 METRES)|
|Colours||No. / Horse Name / Barrier||Jockey||Weight||Status|
|2. Spirit of Cherokee (3)||Les Tilley||59kg|
TRAINER COMMENTS: "He's drawn quite nicely in barrier 3. It looks like the main horse to be beat will be Liability but our bloke has got the race fitness under his belt which will stand him in good stead. He can lead or at least be in the first couple and if he gets the right run, I think he'll have every chance to go on and win the race."
