RACECOURSE ROAD READY TO RUMBLE

May 10, 2019

Talented three-year-old RACECOURSE ROAD makes his Stakes grade debut at Doomben tomorrow as one of the main chances in the $125,000 Listed Suez Queensland Day Stakes (1350m).

The Show A Heart gelding has won two races on the hop since scoring a dominant 4.5 length Class 1 win at the Gold Coast in March before backing that up with an impressive 2.25 length Saturday Metro win at Eagle Farm on April 13.

He has also had the benefit of a jump out this week to tune him up for this assignment (WATCH THE JUMP OUT REPORT BELOW).

Stayer FIRST CRUSH also lines up at Doomben tomorrow in the Group 3 Kirin Chairman's handicap (2000m), where he drops in weight to 54kg after being unsuited in a slowly run race last start..

The stable also has the speedy SMARTYPY running at Sunday's Ipswich meeting in the Class 3 Plate (1100m). The talented mare also had a jump out on Tuesday this week. (WATCH THE JUMP OUT REPORT BELOW).

Trainer Chris Munce previews the stable's runners below:

3. Racecourse Road (6)Jeff Lloyd57kgRacing

TRAINER COMMENTS: 'I'm very happy with him, he had a nice jump out on Tuesday, Zoustyle was in the same heat and he sat back off the speed and attacked the line under a hold from Jeff Lloyd. I'm going to the races confident, he's very fit and I'm sure he'll run one hell of a race for us tomorrow."

Race 9 - 4:30PM KIRIN CHAIRMAN'S HANDICAP (2000 METRES)
ColoursNo. / Horse Name / BarrierJockeyWeight
11. First Crush (8)Matthew McGillivray    54kg

TRAINER COMMENTS: "He wasn't suited by the slow tempo last start so with a nice barrier this time and with a senior rider on board, I'd like Matthew to be positive on him and have him in the first half dozen or so. From there, he's very fit and I'd expect him to run a competitive race for us."

Ipswich: Ipswich Turf Club Sunday 12, May 2019 | View race field

Race 5 - 2:35PM TAB Class 3 Plate (1100 METRES)
ColoursNo. / Horse Name / BarrierJockeyWeightStatus
7. Smartypy (4)Sean Cormack     57kg

TRAINER COMMENTS: "She had a nice jump out this week with Sean Cormack on board to keep her up to the mark and she's very bright and well within herself. She's drawn nicely so weather permitting and we get a nice track, I think she'd be very hard to beat in a race like this."
